Artificial Intelligence: Things You Should Know

Artificial Intelligence refers to artificial intelligence embedded in machines. AI’s goal is to enable machines to learn, think and act in a similar way to humans. The “Turing Test” test was created by Alan Turing, who helped to bring AI to prominence in 1950. After that, AI researchers began to work more with limited computational speed. This was a hindrance to their success.

John McCarthy, also known as the “Father” of AI, and other Computer Scientists co-invented the term “Artificial Intelligence” in a proposal to a conference.

Artificial Intelligence

AI became a reality due to the exponential growth in computational power. Expert systems and chatbots were soon developed that were programmed to mimic the human decision-making process. Big Industries began to use expert systems to receive virtual advice.

Although computational power was still a problem, computers needed to be able to communicate, translate, store, and work in a matter of days or hours. After the Fifth Generation Computer Project, AI’s real success was achieved.

Many of the most important goals of artificial intelligence were achieved in the 1990s and 2000s. An artificial machine called Deep Blue, which was created by IBM, defeated Gary Kasparov, a world-famous chess player, and champion. This was a key factor in the rise of AI.

As a subset, Deep learning, Speech recognition, and Machine learning emerged. Windows was the first platform to implement speech recognition software. The first speech recognition program for Windows was created in 1996. Robots could then recognize emotions and mimic them and can walk and talk like humans.

Artificial intelligence is now a common feature in today’s world, where computational speed and storage are not a problem. Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of our modern world. Its ability to solve problems and adapt behavior has made it a valuable tool in almost all aspects of our lives.

From large businesses to our homes and mobile devices, from big industries to small businesses. From stocks exchanges to entertainment, sports, and health care systems. AI is the beauty that can be found in Netflix, Ali Baba’s YouTube channel, Alexa, Siri, and YouTube. Image Processing is a more advanced form of AI. This is when computers can understand and process images. Natural language processing, real-time object detection, and many other brilliant applications.

Aside from the many benefits and successes of AI, government agencies and governments should ensure that this intelligent system does not invade the privacy of human beings.
